"It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer and sets me on my high places."

Psalm 18:32 and 33

Leadership!

As we prepare for the election, we see many wanting to be in leadership. It seems as if many want the fame and position, but few seem to have or want to do what it takes to be a REAL leader! Abraham Lincoln once said. "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

Some of the greatest leaders in Bible history were men and women of integrity. I think of Moses who faithfully led God's people in spite of their constant complaining. David, whose career began in a field with his sheep, refused to harm King Saul when he had the perfect opportunity and every right to do so. Joseph, the favored son of Jacob, served years in prison for a crime he never committed and yet was an example to others. Esther, a young Jewish girl, found favor in God's sight and stood up for what was right, exposing the evil plot of Haman to kill God's people.

I think of the slaves in American history who treated their white masters with respect even when they were undeserving of it. I'm reminded of men like George Washington and our founding fathers whose Faith in God was the very foundation of our nation...how far we have strayed! I think of Abraham Lincoln who dared to speak out to say that all men are created equal. Martin Luther King is honored for sharing in that dream of equality and his strong leadership. Rosa Parks bravely led as she simply took her place on a bus. Young men like Tim Tebow are true leaders as they bravely share their faith in Christ and do the right thing even when the right thing isn't always the popular thing. Going against popular opinion and taking a stand for what is right and true takes someone who is a real leader.

Each of us makes a difference, either for what is right or what is wrong. We all lead by example. Each of us is either part of the problem or part of the solution. Which are YOU?

This week, ask God how He wants you to be a leader. Ask Him what He would have you to do to make a difference in your community, your state, your country, your world. Being a real leader begins as you seek God's Heart and His ways!

Be encouraged in your new week!
Blessings, Pam

I am a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn't have the heart to let him down..."

"Whatever you are, be a good one."

"If I had eight hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend six hours sharpening my ax"

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts
