                                                                 Pastor's Report

                                                           Administrative council

                                                             September 17, 2007

The fall has arrived and it's time to get back into the swing of things.  Our new heating and air conditioning  system is coming along we are waiting for the new transformer to be installed. We now have the plans for the church so that we can add ramps and other needed improvements so that we can make our sanctuary more accessible to those who are handicapped or are unable traverse steps as well as they used to.  The building projects are being done one at a time and are going forward.

The events of football dinners for away games are  going well, the team and coaches really appreciate them.  Our first Fifth Quarter was held September 14 and was well attended by about 140 teenagers.  The Wednesday evening Bible study is being well attended. I would like to see this continue with a new study to make Wednesday evening Bible study a normal part of the week.  The choir will be practicing again and I look forward to the fellowship and fun this provides.  I would also like to have some special services this coming year .  I would like to have a Thanksgiving eve service, a Christmas eve service, and as the new year is coming, lenten services on Sunday evening during lent based upon the last seven words of Christ.  There is also an appreciation dinner being planned for the food bank volunteers.  The ministerium will be helping to fund this dinner.  The strategic planning team will be called back together to resume the work began before summer.  On a business note we will be hosting a combined charge conference on November 14.  We will be joined by the Three Springs charge.   The format this year is to include the sharing of the churches Acts 29 events, about 15 minutes of business and a presentation by the District Superintendent.   The goal is to have this finished in about an hour, a good attendance by the church is important!

As we look into the future we need to remember to focus upon the work Christ has given us to do.  Building projects are designed to reach out to those in need each one that is accomplished is one more step to opening our doors to those who want to enter in.  Every service is an opportunity to introduce someone to Jesus Christ let's make this fall the beginning of a fruitful year.

Respectfully Submitted
